The famous Jain temple of Dilwara is located about 2.5 km from Mount Abu. This masterpiece is considered on par with the Taj Mahal in Agra. During the rule of the Solanki dynasty, the temple was built by two renowned sculptors of the time, Vistupal and Tejpal. The temple was built between the 11th and 13th centuries AD. when the Solanki were at the height of their glory. Many Jain temples had been built all over Rajasthan during this period but none were as beautiful as the Dilwara temple.
