Shedup Choepelling temple located on Happy Valley road in Mussoorie was the Dalai Lama's first refuge when he escaped Tibet. While the path to the temple is quite narrow and unsigned, most locals will be happy to help you find your way.

Tourist attractions in Mussoorie:
Situated between Mussoorie (35 km) and Chamba (27 km), Dhanaulti is a mountain resort situated in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand.
Covered with forests of deodar, rhododendron and oak, the peaceful and picturesque hamlet of Dhanaulti sits at an altitude of 2286 meters.
The Eco Parks, initiated by the Uttarakhand Forest Department, are also a popular tourist attraction.
The treks to Surkanda Devi, Chandrabadani and Kunjapuri start from Dhanaulti. Trekking to Kempty Falls, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri, etc pass through Dhanaulti.

Gun Hill
Gun Hill is the second highest peak in Mussoorie from where one can have a nice view of the Doon valley and the beautiful view of the Himalayas.

Landour is located in the lower western Himalayan area and is 1,500 meters above Mussoorie.

Kempty falls
Kempty Falls is one of Mussoorie's most popular tourist attractions and picnic spots. Surrounded by high mountain bluffs, Kempty Falls sits at an elevation of approximately 4500 feet above sea level. The pond formed at the bottom of the falls is an excellent place for swimming and bathing.

It is located 13 kilometers from Mussoorie on the Chakrata Road and 45 kilometers from Dehradun. Located nearly 1364 feet above sea level, Kempty Falls and the surrounding area is surrounded by towering mountain ranges at an elevation of 4500 feet.
Kempty Falls has a year-round flow of water that starts southwest of Banglow ki kandi village moves northwest and falls from 4,500 feet. Dividing into five other waterfalls, the water tumbles another 40 feet.
