Corbett National Park is located at the foot of the Himalayas and is the most interesting park in India for admiring wildlife, as well as the possibility of spotting the famous Indian tiger.

Corbett National Park, established in 1936 as Hailey National Park and renamed Ramganga National Park in 1952, got its current name in 1957 from Jim Corbett, the famous naturalist and photographer. This was India's first national park and undoubtedly remains the most attractive in the whole country.
Corbett National Park is located in the foothills of the Himalayas amid thick vegetation and surrounded by mountains with varying heights, ranging from about 400 to almost 1200 meters.
The place, largely located on the banks of the Ramganga River, is believed to have thrived in an ancient civilization.

The main attraction for tourists and wildlife enthusiasts is the chance to spot the famous Indian tiger. Indeed this park is the natural habitat of this rare species of digre in danger of extinction. For this reason the park attracts a huge influx of tourists and offers numerous opportunities for visits.

Corbett National Park is famous for its rich flora and fauna. Apart from wild animals such as tigers, reptiles and birds are present in large numbers of variety of species making the park a paradise for bird watchers, conservationists and nature lovers.
Very rich in vegetation with its 51 different types of shrubs, more than 30 types of bamboo and over 110 different species of trees.
The park, renowned for its majestic leopards and elephants, is the natural habitat for many rare species of mammals, birds and reptiles, over 25 reptile species, 585 types of birds and over 50 varieties of mammal species.
Another major attraction of the park is the aquatic reptiles. Different types of crocodiles can indeed be spotted.
Corbett National Park is truly a wildlife park worth visiting if you are interested in the beautiful nature of India.

The weather in Corbett National Park enjoys temperate weather throughout the year, but the best time to visit the national park is from 15th November.
Winter (November to February) has a temperature range of 5°C to 30°C. Winter mornings can be misty, but the pleasant afternoon is a good time to enjoy a game drive.
In summer (March to May) it reaches 40° C and the average temperature is around 30° C. In this period you are more likely to spot animals.
The monsoon season (June to September), with its heavy rains, is good for enjoying the natural beauty but some areas of the park are closed.
The monsoon period is also perfect for admiring the beauty of the nature that flourishes making the area very picturesque and scenic.

What to visit:
Corbett Museum
Located in Kaladhungi, the Corbett Museum is housed in a historic bungalow of Jim Corbett, the famous conservationist, hunter and leader in tiger conservation. This magnificent museum brings to the fore the memory of the life and activities of his spectacular and distinguished personality.

Corbett Falls
Corbett Falls offers an impressive sight: it comes from a height of about 20 meters, with a scenic backdrop of the verdant forest. It is really worth seeing the waterfall during the full moon.
The large area around the falls is a very nice place for picnics.

Jungle Safaris
Whether you want to spot wildlife or get a special view of elephant herds or different species of deer, Corbett National Park offers several jungle safari opportunities.
You can also go on a jeep safari into Corbett Jungle, and if you're lucky enough, you may even spot tigers.
If you are more adventurous or want to experience some memorable moments, you can go on an elephant safari; a truly amazing experience.
