You can choose from the lighter ones like treks Rudradhari Falls & Caves to the slightly challenging ones like the trek to Pindari – the options are plenty. On treks of higher altitudes, there are fair chances for you to spot animals like Snow Leopard, Musk Deer, and Blue Sheep.
Top attractions in Kausani
Pindari Glacier
25 kms from Bageshwar passing through Thapkot, another 16 kms. later the last bus stop is Loharkhet. From here is a 35 km trek to the famous Pindari glacier. To see this majestic glacier tourists camp on the way to reach the Zero Point (3000 mts).
Sundardunga & Kafni Glaciers
For the more adventurous trekkers these two glaciers are ideal. Both these glaciers are located in the Pindari Glacier area in different spots. It is advisable to visit these places with an experienced guide and proper equipment.
Rudradhari Falls
Located amid the paddy fields, terraced farms, and rich pine-covered woods, Rudradhari Falls & caves combine to form one of the most beautiful places to visit in Kausani and thus make a perfect backdrop for your selfies. It’s located just 12 km away from Kausani, in Adi Kailash Region, and can be reached through an easy trek. As per the legends, this place is associated with Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu.
Kausani Tea Estate
The Kausani Tea Estate, one of the top tourist attractions in Kausani, is spread across 208 acres of area and can be counted as that perfect chilling heaven for a tea-lover. The staff members of the estate guide the visitors and tell them about the tea manufacturing processes. Also, tourists can taste and buy Darjeeling-style long grain & other kinds of teas at affordable price.
Pant Museum
A little away from the Kaushani bus stand is a museum named after the Hindi poet Sumitranandan Pant. The house which has the museum is the poet's house of his childhood days.
Pinakeshwar
9050 feet above sea level, this hill station is 20 kms from Kaushani. Here there is a temple of Shiva from where one can view many valleys. Around Pinakeshwar are other places like Old Pinakeshwar, Gopalkot, Huria etc.
Someshwar
15 kms away from Kaushani, this famous Shiva temple was built by King Somchand of the Chand Dynasty. In March every year a festival is held here.
