Thus he became the Buddha, and from that moment the tree was called the Bodhi Tree. The following week he spent meditating in various places near the tree and then left for Sarnath where he gave his first speech.
Bodhgaya is located in one of the poorest areas of India, in the state of Bihar which is considered to be one of the most dangerous for travelers, although in recent years the situation has improved somewhat.

Patna
Patna is the largest city and the capital of the state of Bihar.
Located on the south bank of the Ganga river, it boasts some ancient sacred places as well as places of tourist interest.
